Individual Sewage Disposal Systems
As a mostly rural community, Zimmerman MN has a lot of Residential Septic Systems to manage. A Septic Compliance Inspection is one way for the local government to keep track of the overall health of Individual Sewage Disposal Systems in the community. If you plan to Install or Alter your septic system or connect to the city sewer system, you will need to get a Permit. Having the sewer system inspected is often required prior to approval. Likewise, Selling a home, Buying a property or a Bedroom Addition may also require that the septic system be inspected for state and local Code Compliance. As your State-Licensed Septic Inspector, CSI Custom Septic, Inc. can provide the necessary inspection, permits and forms.
What is MN Licensed Septic Inspector Looking For?
A Septic Compliance Inspection is used to determine whether a sewage system meets all state and local requirements. Rules vary depending on the location of the Septic System. MN Septic Inspectors are State-Licensed. Inspections may be required for several different reasons including Property Transfer or Building Permits. Some communities require an inspection once every three years, others every five years or ten years depending on the circumstances.
Here is a summary of what a MN Septic Inspector is looking at during a Septic Compliance Inspection:
- Location of all Septic System Components?
- Type of Sewage Disposal System being used on property?
- Are Septic Tanks watertight?
- Does the Drainfield have adequate vertical separation between the bottom of the drainage field and bedrock below
- Is the Septic System Currently Functioning at or above all code requirements?
- Are requirements of Operating Permit being met?
Certificate of Compliance | Notice of Non-Compliance
Results of the septic compliance inspection will determine whether a Certificate of Compliance (COC) or a Notice of Noncompliance (NON) will be issued. CSI Custom Septic, Inc. will provide you with the inspection results and file the certificate with the appropriate government office. A Septic System Certificate of Compliance is generally good for 3 years from the inspection date.
