Low Interest Repair Loans & Grants for MN Homeowners
Every year Minnesota property owners are told that they need to Replace or Repair a Failing Septic System. For some the costs can be very difficult to manage. Fortunately, there is financial assistance available to some Very Low-Income homeowners around the state including Sherburne and Wright Counties. As a courtesy Custom Septic, Inc. CSI is providing information on USDA Repair Loans & Grants for MN homeowners that qualify. Funds totaling $27,500 may be available for qualifying homeowners who use the money for qualifying expenses. This program is aimed at Improving Health and Safety.
Do I Qualify For Septic System Grants and Loans?
This USDA Financial Assistance program is available to Very-Low Income homeowners in Minnesota and other states. To qualify for a Low Interest Loan or Grant you must meet specific criteria. Homeowners in Hennepin County, Anoka County, Washington County and Ramsey County are not eligible for this program. However, Sherburne County and Wright County residents may qualify along with other rural counties across the state of Minnesota.

How Must Financial Assistance be Used?
Septic System Low Interest Loans are intended for the improvement of health and safety. Loans may be used for the Repair or Replacement of failing or noncompliant Individual Sewage Treatment Systems (ISTS or SSTS). Grants are for qualified residents who are 62 years or older and are unable to repay a loan.
What is the Maximum Amount of Funds I Can Get?
Qualifying Low Interest Loans have a Maximum amount available per Minnesota household. Grants also have a Maximum amount for each MN household that qualifies. These funds may be combined in certain circumstances.
- $20,000 Maximum Low Interest Loan
- $7,500 Maximum Grant Money
- $27,500 Combined Maximum for Qualified Loans and Grants
